The weekend of the 8 of May 2011, the local derby will take place in Barcelona, between the FC Barcelona and Espanyol Barcelona.

The shadows derby:

Nevertheless, besides their geographical proximity, the two clubs opposed their inception on the origin and political orientation of theirfounders (foreigners acquired Catalanism for Barca, Spanish loyal to the crown of Spain on the other). But the rivalry does not really exist on a purely sporting aspect. Espanyol has never been entitled to compete with its neighbor glorious both in terms of popularity and neither palmares.
