Dear Akaza-Blog Reader,

Even if you are not a motorsports fan, you have probably heard before about Moto GP.

 

                                 

The thrilling Motorcycling World Championship comes to Barcelona when Montmeló racetrack hosts the 2011 MotoGP World Championship in June 2011 as the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya - the Catalonia Moto GP. This is one of the most popular races of the Moto GP not least due to the home city of Barcelona. The race itself takes place at the Circuit de Catalunya race track near Barcelona. Over 100.000 race fans and visitors come to see the action of one of the fastest sports in the world, the MotoGP, with bikes reaching speeds of over 300 kph.

 

                                   


       

 

So don't miss the chance to experience the world’s top motorcycling Championship live in the 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP classes in Barcelona.The Circuit has seventeen grandstands, three of which are covered. Around the track are 20 giant screens so you won't miss a single detail.

 

 

The Circuit

 

            

 

The Circuit de Catalunya is the Barcelana venue for international motor racing competitions. The biggest events are the annual F1 Formula One Spanish Grand Prix in May and MotoGP in June.  The sporting calendar of the Circuit de Catalunya also includes several competitions of the Catalan and Spanish Motorcycling or Car Championships, both 24 Hours Endurance races, and the Catalan Motorcycling Grand Prix. The Circuit de Catalunya can also be contacted for activities in connection with incentive events, presentations and conventions. Activities include quads racing, go-karts, 4X4 circuit and helicopter flights and more. Montmelo is in the Valles Oriental comarca (county of Barcelona. Saturday 4 of June : Practice 3 11:00 - 12:00      Qualifying 14:00
Sunday  5 of June :  Race 14:00

By Train:

Montmelo has a railway station on R2 (line 2) of Spanish railways Renfe Cercanías / Rodalies - trains from Barcelona to Maçanet Massanes.. You can get on the R2 train at Barcelona stations Plaza Catalunya, Arc de Triomf or Clot.  Trains leave every 30 minutes. It is a 20 minute walk from Montmelo station to the Montmelo race track.
