Yet again Barcelona turned into a Festival place and space in the city centre. Sonar 2008. I was pleased to get myself organised this year as I wanted to attend Saturday day time, and last year we had to sit outside watch the event from a distance, a bit pooped that we could not get tickets no matter how hard we tried.. So this time I put the question out, who wants to go to Sonar for Saturday,

The spring has finally come to Barcelona, and noticeably so. People are like flowers, like a closed bud in winter which with the heat and sun shine starts flourishing and the smiles on their faces growing wider. The Akaza Team is thrilled and excited to be able to stroll down to the Barceloneta beach on their lunch break, munch away on a sandwich and sip in the spring atmosphere.
And not only does the heat bring out the smiles but also the love, "love is in the air" as the song says, Couples popping out of the wood work, snugging and looking very much in love where ever turn.
To take advantage of the great weather the Akaza Team is sent out to work on several projects, where we want to offer more information to our guests and visitors.
Niki is currently working on photo gallery where she has taken photos of art, graffiti, and people of Barcelona, to be found on this link:

Ivo is in charge of our new Barcelona City Guides which will be in the management Barcelona Holiday apartments. Which you can take a look at in a word format and download from our web page:

Thijs is doing a thorough market research, to find out what Akaza guests would like to experience when visiting Catalunya and how Akaza can offer them more services to fulfil their needs, so shortly we will be launching a whole new range of services. The aim is to keep Akaza vibrant and energetic with our philosophy to stay innovative and creative.
If the spring has not arrived to where you are at and you would like to seek the sun, Akaza Team is more then happy to assist you with any needs you might have in order to make your stay in Barcelona as easy and comfortable as possible. info@akaza.net or http://www.akaza.net/

El Pebrot i el Petit Cargol
c/ Alcolea 18, 08014 Barcelona (Sants)
93.431.6970
Metro: Plaça Sants
If you plan to go Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, let us reserve the table for you since it is a busy restaurant!
If you want to try some real Catalan food, get a feeling of a local restaurant away from Barcelona centre, without tourists, you should visit El Pebrot i el Petit Cargol in the Sants district.
They serve typical Catalan dishes, among those the Cargol (snails) in different sauces. Delicious and very typical dish from Catalonia. If you come in February or March, you should definitly try the famous Calçots (grilled onion) with the home made salsa - another Catalan FUN delicacy where you have to be prepared to get dirty hands! From the menu, they service different kind of grilled meat where I suggest you try the big Entrecot or Rabbit (Conill). Fantastic! Please note that the plates are huge so you will not leave the restaurant hungry!
My suggestion:
If you plan to go and see the Magic Fountains of Montjüic, you should combine it with dinner at El Pebrot i el Petit Cargol. From the restaurant to the Magic Fountains, you have 15-20 minutes walk!
Extra:
On Thursday nights, live music and entertainment is the perfect spice to your dinner.
Enjoy!
Kristina
