Starting February 2010 Akaza are changing their office to be in the Born.

We going in to a higher building with amazing views, and plenty of daylight.

Our little office in Barceloneta has served us well, but now its time to climb higher.

The new office is surrounded by a massive terrace and windows all around, intenting to enjoy work with plenty daylight and lunch breaks on the terrace in the sun.

We will then have a very central location, easily reached by foot from Plaza Catalunya.

So please feel free to come by and say hi.

New Akaza Team Spirit

Kristian Gómez Gunnebring arrived one month ago to the Akaza team as a Business Consultant of the agency. With a Swedish mother and a Spanish father, Kristian is an international traveler since the cradle, as he born in Sweden and moved to Spain with his parents when he was 10. Between Spain and Sweden, Kristian has been studying system engineering and worked for 12 years in the car industry where he got the opportunity to work for 2 years in Korea as global team manager. Huge fan of sports, as Kite Surf, snowboard, Mountain Bike or Rollerblade, he discovered martial arts 7 years ago and applies this knowledge based on the respect, modesty and self control, in his life each day.

Akaza: Hi Kristian! So you just joined the Akaza team, as I can see you traveled a lot these last years, could I ask you why did you choose Barcelona to live?

Kristian: I came back to live in Barcelona because I really love the city. First I’m practicing lot of different sports, as mountain bike for example, and Barcelona provides you with so many amazing places to practice it with the nature all around that it is always a pleasure to go for a ride. I also love to live close to the sea, and as the weather is nice almost everyday it’s quite easy to enjoy it. Furthermore, this city has an incredible architectural wealth and I deeply appreciate taking a walk in a city like that, full of history. Barcelona is abounded of cultural activities, as concerts, exhibitions of any kinds, theater and so more, that it is impossible to be bored for a person who needs activities all the time like me. You know, I have been living in a lot of cities in different countries, as Madrid (Spain), Stockholm (Sweden), Seoul (South Korea), Tarrega (Spain), Göteborg (Sweden), Vetlanda (Sweden) and I have to say that Barcelona is the only city where you can feel a sense of liberty like that. I feel home here.

Akaza: Why did you leave the area you were working in and what made you choose the Service Industry?

Kristian: I think that we all need some changes in our lives, and after 12 years working in the same area I really wanted to discover other things. I have been traveling a lot during my life and I met plenty of people from everywhere making me discovering their city, their environment and their way to live, and I always felt the desire to make them discover my country, my city and the Spanish culture as they did for me. So the tourist area appeared like an evidence for my professional recon version.

But I also wanted to change because I felt more and more concerned by the environmental question, and things are not changing as fast as I would like in the sector where I was working before. Besides, I worked in some big enterprises and working as a freelance for smaller companies gives me more opportunities to develop what I want.

Akaza: “To develop what [you] want”, could you be more precise on this point?

Kristian: (Laughs) Yes of course. As I said, I traveled a lot until today so that made me a big tourist customer. Because of that I have seen many deficiencies and problems that you can have when you are a tourist. That’s why I really want to focus on our guests needs, the way they feel and how we can make them feel even better, to enjoy their stay in Barcelona as much as they can.

But in the daily life, the things to develop or to improve are most of the time things that we heard from our guests, thanks to the feedbacks we receive from them. That’s my vision of the things and of the agency, to always be ready to listen to what they feel to always improve more.

Akaza has since 2003 been focusing on apartment rentals as well as services to their guests. In the last year or so Akaza has also started to sell tickets for events such as FC Barcelona, Espanyol, Concerts and more.
