Dear Akaza-Blog Reader,
Especially now when the colder January and February are around the corner, it is time for relaxing and wellness in a warm atmosphere. And of course there are some very nice places in Barcelona. In the following we would like to present you three of these relaxation oases:
Aire de Barcelona - Arab baths
In the heart of the old city, near Ciutadella Park in the Born area of Barcelona, you will find this Arabian-style baths located in a renovated warehouse with stone arches.
This Arab bath or Turkish bath is the Turkish variant of a steam bath. A person taking a Turkish bath first relaxes in a room known as the warm room (tepidarium with 36 ºC) that is heated by a continuous flow of hot, dry air allowing the bather to perspire freely. Bathers may then move to an even hotter room known as the hot room (caldarium with 40ºC) before splashing themselves with cold water (frigidarium with 16ºC). After performing a full body wash and receiving a massage, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.
Moreover you have the possibility to enjoy salt water floating baths, cold plunge pools, jacuzzi and saunas.

Spa Hammam Rituels d´Orient
“Hammam” is the Arabic word for heat and also the name for the Spa which for centuries has been a part of the rituals and customs of the Arab world where visitors circulate between zones of progressive temperature and humidity.
Barcelona´s first Spa Hammam is a centre dedicated to the traditional Arabian rituals of beauty and well being.
Inspired by Oriental customs, you can discover the virtues of the Hammam and the traditional passage through water and steam of different temperatures and an essential preparation for authentic and natural beauty treatments such as the Traditional Body Scrub and the Rhassoul Clay Body Mask. Massages, facial treatments, or treatments of the hands and feet are also available.
